My mission is to craft art that speaks to the inner child of others, acknowledging that life is a journey filled with challenges, from the complexities of mental health to the experience of feeling excluded from society, and the unique struggles of first-generation individuals. This journey has been profoundly shaped by my upbringing in a Mexican immigrant household, which not only influences my creative process but also deeply impacts my work ethic.
My earliest recollection of the transformative power of art dates back to my first-grade experience with arts and crafts. School, at that time, posed a considerable challenge for me as my primary language was Spanish, making it arduous for me to verbally express myself. It was art that became my sanctuary, a place where I felt safe and truly understood.
I'll forever be grateful to my first-grade teacher, who recognized my profound passion for art. She allowed me to linger after class, painting alongside her. These cherished childhood memories remain a profound influence on my artistic journey. Drawing inspiration from my unique background and these formative experiences, my heartfelt aspiration is to become an art teacher.
My ultimate goal is to bestow upon my students the same sense of security and encouragement that my first-grade teacher so generously granted me. It's my solemn commitment to create a nurturing sanctuary for the artists of the future, a place where they can unreservedly express themselves through art without fear of judgment or the weight of expectations. I aim to offer them a space where they can truly feel safe, understood, and heard.
